Located at the gateway of Japan – The Tokyo Station Marunouchi Building has a rich history, and is proudly a designated Important Culture Property of Japan. This Central Tokyo hotel preserves its deep-rooted heritage and provides guests contemporary accommodations and unparalleled hospitality. The hotel is located in the heart of Tokyo, Japan overlooking the Imperial Palace. The Tokyo Station Hotel is directly connected to the JR Tokyo Station Marunouchi, for convenient travel throughout Japan. The hotel is also located just 30 minutes from the Haneda Airport Station, and 60 minutes from the JR Narita Airport Station.

 

OUR HISTORY

Opened in 1915, a year after the opening of Tokyo Station, The Tokyo Station Hotel opened, featuring 56 guest rooms. This European-style hotel in Tokyo, Japan showcased magnificent architecture and state-of-the-art facilities and banquet rooms.

During the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923, The Tokyo Station Hotel was home to many visitors and people affected by the disaster. After business resumed at the end of the Second World War, the hotel was considered more of a popular coffee bar, not having fully recovered from the earthquake and war.

In 2003, The Tokyo Station Marunouchi Building was designed as Important Cultural Property of Japan, and in 2006, construction of The Tokyo Station Marunouchi Building began – with huge grand renovation was under way. The Tokyo Station Hotel reopened as a premier grand, historic hotel on October 3, 2012.

In 2015, The Tokyo Station Hotel became a member of hotel brand, Small Luxury Hotels of the World(SLH). SLH covers independent world luxury hotels, with over 520 luxury hotels in more than 80 countries. At the same year, hotel celebrated its 100th anniversaries.

1915 – The Tokyo Station Hotel’s grand opening

1923 – Great Kanto Earthquake

1933 – The Tokyo Station Hotel fell under Ministry of Railways management, and was renamed “Tokyo Railway Hotel”

1945 – Tokyo Station heavily damaged in World War II

1947 – Tokyo Station reconstruction

1951 – The Tokyo Station Hotel resumes business

1964 – During the Tokyo Olympics, The Tokyo Station Hotel became known as one of the most prestigious hotels in Japan and abroad

2003 – The Tokyo Station Marunouchi Building is designated as Important Cultural Property of Japan

2006 – The hotel closes for preservation and restoration

2012 – The Tokyo Station Hotel grand re-opening

2015 – The Tokyo Station Hotel celebrates its 100th anniversary
