We are proud to announce that our legendary 80 year-old Master Bartender Mr. Hisashi Sugimoto has been awarded the prestigious honor of the “2021 Hotel Employee of the Year” as a beacon of inspiration for the entire hospitality industry by Forbes Travel Guide.
Forbes Travel Guide is the world-renowned authority in genuine Five-Star service. Alongside its yearly list of Five-Star, Four-Star and Recommended properties, FTG unveiled a number of special awards that commend individual hospitality personnel.
The second annual Employee of the Year awards celebrate the exemplary staff members who stand out in their service of guests and co-workers. The 80-year-old joined The Tokyo Station Hotel in 1958 and is a living legend. Sugimoto invented many of hotel’s original cocktails, especially “Tokyo Station” with ties to the hotel’s rich 105-year history. In addition, he supports his younger team members and ensures their skill development.
